Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Kane losing his original family would have prompted him to build Julie in the first place.

Yeah but a perfect city were only the elite of the earth's survivors lives under a dictatorial leadership while rebels and the rest of humanity live below them and a desperate men who lose his daughter builts a robot copy of her and the robot has a soul and a free will and she teams up with a group of kids? That's astroboy (the movie) X3

I think that something bad happened to Julie's mom that's why Kane is obsessed with control he's trying to protect his daughter and the dream that he had with his beloved wife. But this is just how I like to imagine it X3

Same here... or maybe his obsession with control blossomed while he was still partners with Jacob... and his wife left him of her own free will while he was building deluxe.

BTW, I saw a tumblr post about Chris P's plans for Motorcity season 2. There was one note about Julie being an android.

I know I've seen those notes but seriously they could mean a lot of things. Although I don't mind the theory of an android Julie I might draw one one of these days.

In my head-canon, Julie becomes a cyborg after Red blows her up in an attempt to catch Mike after her secret is blown.

But if Julie were an android... is she one of those Bio-Mechanical ones? Yet again, we never do see her eat anything on-screen.
